Inclement weather in the central portion of Wyoming delayed the start of the inaugural season of indoor track for Powell High School.
Coach Scott Smith said because of the road being closed between Casper and Shoshoni, and the early departure not being able to leave a window large enough for slow driving, the team opted to not attend the opening meet in Casper. Smith said Cody was unable to attend the opening meet as well.
The team will head to Gillette this weekend to compete at an invitational on Saturday, dependent on road conditions.
Powell’s five remaining meets, including the state meet, are scheduled to take place in Gillette.
