Mother Nature is planning to rear its ugly head once again this week, leading to schedule changes around Park County.
Powell High School is still set to play host to Mountain View and Lyman on Thursday and Friday for both soccer teams.
The Panthers are set for 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. kickoffs today (Thursday), and 10 a.m. and noon kickoffs Friday with the girls kicking off first both days.
Due to a high amount of snow in Cody, the Cody soccer matches on Thursday and Friday against Lyman and Mountain View have also been moved to PHS.
The matches will take place before PHS plays on Thursday and after PHS on Friday.
PHS Athletic Director Scott McKenzie said in an email that they are planning to play matches on Thursday despite a chance of snow, but will not continue play if it becomes unsafe for athletes.
No junior varsity matches will be played.
TRACK CHANGES
PHS track may have to wait a little longer to get the season underway, after incoming snow has canceled the meet in Burlington scheduled for Friday.
Coach Scott Smith said coaches in the Big Horn Basin are attempting to schedule a small meet on Saturday in Cody, but no start time has been determined and the meet may not occur depending on how much snow Cody receives from this storm.
Smith said they will know on Thursday if the meet will be able to take place on Saturday.
If the meet does not happen, the next chance for the Panthers to take the track will be next Thursday, April 6, in Worland.
The Powell Athletic Roundtable Middle School Track Invitational is still scheduled for a 9:30 a.m. start on Saturday at PHS.
Powell Middle School Athletic Director Chanler Buck said a decision will be made Friday morning if the event will take place on Saturday.
