Eight teams from Wyoming including Sheridan, Lovell, Gillette and Cody — along with the Pioneer B and C teams — competed in the Powell tournament this past weekend.
Both teams started out strong on Thursday. The C team defeated Cody in a tight contest 6-5 and the B team shut out the Gillette B team 10-0.
Going into Saturday, Powell defeated the Sheridan B team by a score of 10-6 and the C team defeated the Gillette C team 4-2.
Both Gillette teams got revenge on Sunday, as the Gillette B team defeated the Pioneers 18-8 and the Gillette C team defeated the Pioneers 7-3.
The tournament was originally scheduled to guarantee four games for every team, but due to teams dropping out and games being canceled because of limited numbers of players most teams played only three games.
The Pioneer C team was scheduled to play Lovell at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Wednesday (yesterday) and the Pioneer B team is scheduled to play Cody tonight (Thursday) at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Both the B and C teams will be back in action in Powell on Tuesday, June 21, at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
The B team will be taking on Jackson and the C team will play Cody.
