Join the Meeteetse Museums and Jason Burckhardt of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department on Wednesday for a virtual presentation on the Yellowstone cutthroat trout of the Greybull River drainage.
The latest edition of the museum’s Human and Wildlife Interactions seminar series begins at 6 p.m. It will be streamed through the Meeteetse Museums Facebook page and offered via Zoom by visiting www.bit.ly/3eJen6a and using the password 994992.
Yellowstone cutthroat trout (Oncorhynchus clarkii bouvieri) were the dominant fish species in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem before Euro-American settlement of the area. The species is an important food source for a variety of wildlife including grizzly bears, river otters, mink and several species of birds. During his presentation, Burckhardt will give background on the species, population levels and talk about conservation efforts.
