Dale Ann (Feusner) Meeker helped the Powell High School girls’ basketball team win the state championship in 1975. Her exciting and award-winning career that followed will be the subject of a Thursday evening program, hosted by the local chapter of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). The public event begins at 5 p.m. at Northwest College’s Intercultural House, 231 W. Sixth St.
Following a standout basketball career at the University of Wyoming, Meeker married her husband Mike and returned to Powell, teaching at Powell Middle School before retiring in 2016. Meeker also has decades of coaching experience, leading the Panther girls’ varsity basketball team and the Powell Middle School track and field team.
Now, “She continues her award-winning life on a different journey,” said Claudia Fisher of AAUW. “The public is invited to attend this program to hear the rest of the story.”
There will be a business meeting at 4:15 p.m. for AAUW members, followed by refreshments for all.
