Bands will again hit the stage at Washington Park this summer for a series of free concerts.
Hosted by the K-Bar Saloon, this year’s “Band in the Park” series is set to run 6-8 p.m. on June 26, July 10, July 24, Aug. 7 and Aug. 21. The K-Bar plans to sell beer, soda, water and burgers alongside the concerts.
The Powell City Council cleared the way for the event to return, agreeing last week to waive the city’s general prohibition on open containers of alcohol for the series.
Still, the beer will need to stay in a fenced-off area near the park bandshell, with the bar responsible for ensuring compliance with the law.
