The United States Postal Service warns that first class mail, like a card or check, has to be sent by tomorrow (Friday), even if it is headed to Alaska. Priority mail can be sent as late as Saturday, and priority express as late as Dec. 23.
If you are shopping online, the delivery dates shift a little more. According to The Verge, an Amazon Prime order in an eligible zip code can be sent same day on various choices through Christmas Eve.
Over at FedEx, the window for ground shipment has closed, but there are still options for express saver (Dec. 21) Second Day (Dec. 22) and overnight service, (Dec. 23) Keep in mind, not all services are available to all areas.
UPS offers similar shipping dates and services, with third day select shipping closing Dec. 21, second day air shutting off Dec. 22 and next day air closing on Dec. 23.
