Powell police are seeking more information about a Wednesday morning incident, in which a driver may have hit a teenage bicyclist.
The incident reportedly occurred sometime between 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of North Ferris Street and East Coulter Avenue. Police were contacted shortly before noon.
According to information provided to police, a 14-year-old boy had been riding his bike when he was struck by a male in black vehicle — possibly a truck. The driver reportedly offered an apology before driving away, Powell Police Chief Roy Eckerdt said of the teen’s account.
The boy suffered minor injuries — he was checked out by EMS personnel and released to his mother — and his bike was not damaged, Eckerdt said Wednesday afternoon.
The chief added that, “It’s not 100% clear what happened at this point.”
Police believe there was at least one witness to the accident and are asking anyone with information to contact Sgt. Dustin DelBiaggio at 307-754-2212.
