A $3.99 million settlement repair project on Wyo. Highway 120 is slated to begin Monday north of Cody.

Riverside Contracting, Inc., of Billings, Montana, is the prime contractor.

The project will run from milepost 115 — about 1.5 miles south of the intersection of 120 and the Chief Joseph Scenic Highway (Wyo. 296) — to milepost 118.5, which is the south end of Chapman Bench.

The project work includes reconstructing three settlement areas, with 1 inch of asphalt pavement leveling, 2 inches of asphalt overlay and chip sealing.

“Motorists should expect delays of up to 20 minutes and one-way traffic during working hours,” said Wyoming Department of Transportation resident engineer Todd Frost of Cody. “During non-working hours, motorists can expect one-way traffic at the settlement areas with traffic controlled by temporary traffic signals and delays of up to 5 minutes.”

Frost said the contractor plans to kick off the project on Monday by starting work on the reconstruction of the settlement area nearest to Chapman Bench. Paving of the project is tentatively scheduled after the July 4 holiday, with a contract completion date of Oct. 31.
