Glen Ray Schultz Sr. passed peacefully on March 6, 2024 in Billings, Montana. He was the loving husband of Maryanne Schultz for 68 years, the father of CindyLee Buchanan and Glen Ray Schultz Jr, and the brother of Joy Ann, Jeff and Jerry. Glen was born on Nov. 22, 1940 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Arlene and LaFern Schultz. He was raised in Suakville, Wisconsin, and married the love of his life in 1959.

Glen studied to become an engineer and had a long career with Amoco Oil Research Center in Naperville, Illinois. He was a brilliant inventor and patent holder of many high-tech parts and systems. In the 1980s he invented and patented a food vacuum sealing system and founded the Pump ’n Seal, which is still in existence and sold worldwide.

Together Glen and Maryanne lived a very full and adventurous life. They made Wapiti, Wyoming their home in 1998. Glen was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cody and the vice president of the Park County Republican Party.

Glen’s family line was rooted in military service. He had a deep respect and admiration for those who gave to their country. Glen continued the tradition of honoring his country with his service in the United States Air Force Strategic Air Command. Later in life he became involved with the Downrange Warriors, an organization which provides trauma healing support for veterans.

A memorial service will be held, details pending. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to these charities that are beloved by the Schultz Family: Downrange Warriors (trauma healing support for veterans), Northwest Battle Buddies (trains service dogs for veterans).

Happy trails, until we meet again.
