Flowers and love

When we reflect on Valentine’s Day, thoughts of love and flowers come to mind. We traditionally give red roses to express love. However, roses are not the only flower to present and there are many stages of love. Let us glance at how flowers can convey emotions when words do not suffice.

Orchids, my favorite flower because of their magnificence and grandeur, have many symbolic meanings, such as love, beauty and strength. Like a red rose, a red orchid is figurative of love, passion and desire. Gentleness, romance and the exquisite flower of a pink phalaenopsis orchid are perfect for an expecting mother. We declare natural beauty and elegance with white. The ideal gift for an acquaintance is a yellow which suggests happiness, joy and new beginnings. Likewise, if you have a mentor or admire an individual, choose purple to give. Regardless of what color an orchid can be symbolic of devotion, kindness and grace. If you require additional guidance to choose the perfect orchid for your loved one, contact your local nursery. They will be delighted to talk with you about flowers! Another way to communicate is to express the language of forgiveness through flowers.

We are alike that humans have conflicts and what a better time to end a dispute than on Valentine’s Day. First it is essential to realize that having misunderstandings means you are learning about each other’s needs and values. You can gift a red rose or a dozen roses to resolve damage or hurt. They likewise reveal a developing stability. If you desire a couple of words to speak, reflect on the following written by Paul Warren: “I know what it takes to forgive. And I’m asking so I can begin to live.”

Once your hearts are healed, and your relationships are strengthened, communicate your joy with yellow flowers. If you prefer something simple, you can go with a single yellow rose. Or you can construct a bouquet of pink and yellow roses. The pink rose is symbolic of comfort, delight, appreciation, grace and gratitude. To convey your passion, offer your cherished one marigold seeds. This is a gift that continues to give throughout the year. You have delight when you see it germinate, satisfaction when the weather is warm enough to plant it outside and pride when it flowers. It is a continuous expression of the affection you have with your loved one.

If you want your Valentine’s Day gift to leave a longstanding impression, express your love with the breathtaking elegance of flowers. Your love, friend and acquaintance will appreciate the thoughtfulness of your gift.
