Facts do not back up claims of systemic racism

Dear Editor:

Racism is real. It is a sin. It will send one to hell as quick as any other sin. But systemic racism is another matter.

I just read another article recently about how law enforcement is entrenched deeply in systemic racism. Really? Evidence, of course, for this is the shootings of Blacks by police officers. Or is it?

To be sure, what we are seeing is tragic. But please let us be careful and look a little closer at things before jumping to conclusions. Maybe better yet, stop jumping to conclusions.

Harvard professor Ronald G. Fryer Jr. conducted a detailed study entitled An Empirical Analysis of Racial Differences in Police Use of Force. Dr. Fryer, a Black American, expected to find in his research that systemic racism was widespread among law enforcement. What he found was just the opposite. Don’t take my word for it; please read the research.

Systemic racism is being touted by the media, the Black Lives Matter (BLM) organization and ANTIFA . But the actual facts just do not back up what they have to say. I suggest that you listen to Dr. Carol Swain, formerly of Vanderbilt and Princeton, Dr. Ben Carson, Dr. Thomas Sowell and Dr. Walter Williams. I also recommend you watch the Uncle Tom documentary produced by Larry Elder. All of these are Black Americans who believe that systemic racism is false, at least in the way it is being reported.
