Dale Eugene Kasinger, 79, of Powell, was called home on June 29, 2023, after many health struggles. He was the middle child born April 21, 1944, to Paul and Louise (Retzer) Kasinger.

Wyoming called the family from their Illinois home to a farm on the Willwood in 1946 when Dale was just a toddler. He grew up helping on the farm, was involved in 4-H and FFA, and spent time fishing, exploring places like the McCullough Peaks and Sunlight areas on his horse, Sue.

He graduated from Powell High School and enrolled in an ag program at the University of Wyoming. While attending college in Laramie he met and married his first wife, Clyda Raber in 1966. Spring 1967 brought their first child Christine and a move back to his own acreage on the Willwood near the family farm. A son Clinton was born in 1969. He found many years of joy working the soil and years later, when Paul retired, it was a natural fit for Dale to take over the original farm as well. In the early ’80s he built his dream house, designed and built to take advantage of the views of the Shoshone River, Bighorns, Heart Mountain, McCullough Peaks … he so loved that spot and the quiet country life.

As happens sometimes, he and Clyda  divorced in 1987. He married his second wife Billie Thronburg in 1992. After farming for 40-plus years he leased the farm and he and Billie enjoyed camping, family gatherings and a couple of well-earned vacations.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Louise Kasinger and his first wife Clyda.

He leaves behind his wife Billie, his sister Vikki (Tim) Huxtable, brother Don (Donna) Kasinger, daughter Chris (Dave) Norris, son Clint (Dawn) Kasinger, son Clint (Kelly) Thronburg, daughters Gerri (Dane) Ackley, Michelle (Ron) Chouinard, 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at Thompson Funeral Home in Powell on July 7 at 10 a.m. Viewing times are July 6 from 6-7 p.m. and July 7 from 9-10 a.m.
