The Wyoming Transportation Commission will tour the Beartooth Highway on Wednesday in an effort to learn more about the history and the future of maintaining the high-elevation route. A regular commission meeting with follow on Thursday in Cody.
The commission’s meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Cody Club Room, 1240 Beck Ave. At 10 a.m., the commission will depart for a firsthand look at a proposed reconstruction project on U.S. Highway 212 (the Beartooth Highway).
During the tour, officials from the Federal Highway Administration, Montana Department of Transportation and Yellowstone National Park will share their perspective regarding highway maintenance and the need for reconstructing the Beartooth Highway in Wyoming.
On Thursday, the commission will meet for its regular business meeting, beginning at 8 a.m. in the Taggart Room at the Cody Holiday Inn, 1701 Sheridan Ave. The public is welcome to attend.
