Cody eatery featured on Food Network’s ‘Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives’

CODY — An eatery and gourmet food store in downtown Cody will be featured at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 20 during “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives,” the top-rated Food Network TV show hosted by Guy Fieri.

Sitti’s Table, a popular breakfast and lunch cafe that also offers sandwiches and other takeout fare, hosted the “Mayor of Flavortown” during the taping of a segment for his show when Fieri visited the area in June.

“It was a lot of fun to meet Guy Fieri and make a few of our signature dishes for him,” said Porter Koury, who owns and operates Sitti’s Table along with her husband, Jake Scott, in a press release. “He was so great to us, our staff and our customers, and we’re so grateful and excited to be featured on his show.”

Koury said Fieri and his crew liked their food so much they were invited to cook later that same week for a segment filmed at Yellowstone Valley Inn in Wapiti for “Guy’s Family Road Trip,” a Food Network show that follows Fieri, family and friends on adventures across America. Among the dishes they prepared were lamb pita and a version of the local favorite Italian sandwich served at Sitti’s. That segment will air next summer.

The highlight of Fieri’s visit, Koury said, was when her grandmother, Marie Koury, 97, got to swap recipes and share kitchen tips on camera with the celebrity chef. Koury named the business in honor of her grandmother, an accomplished cook affectionately known as Rie-Rie, and the matriarch of her large, extended Lebanese-American family. “Sitti” means “grandmother” in Lebanese, and Sitti’s Table offers Middle Eastern and Mediterranean influenced dishes, some based on old family recipes.

Though Koury hasn’t seen the segment yet, she said it was gratifying to watch Fieri and her grandmother hit it off during the taping. Fieri pulled Rie-Rie aside for an impromptu, half-hour interview, something the crew had never seen in 38 seasons, she said.

“The banter between Guy and Rie-Rie had us all cracking up, and they genuinely bonded over using their cooking skills and passion for food as a way to bring people together,” Koury said. “Guy truly believes in his mission of promoting small, family-owned businesses, and Rie-Rie has donated proceeds from her nine cookbooks to local nonprofits.”

The Food Network appearance is not the first moment in the spotlight for Koury and Scott. Film actor and former “Saturday Night Live” star Will Ferrell visited last summer during a trip to Yellowstone National Park. Damon Dash, a record executive with a home in Wapiti, is a frequent customer, Koury said. And the couple regularly prepared meals for Kanye West and his entourage through their Laughing Pig catering company, serving lunch and dinner to the rapper for nearly a year when he lived in Cody.

Established in May 2022, Sitti’s Table offers gourmet grocery items and international and specialty foods, serving breakfast and lunch Tuesday through Saturday featuring fresh, locally sourced and sustainably produced ingredients.

Guy Fieri has hosted “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives” since 2007, featuring more than 800 eateries across the country. Food Network is available to nearly 100 million U.S. households, appearing on channel 110 on Dish, channel 231 on DirecTV and locally on Spectrum Cable and channel 41 on TCT.
