Center of the West to hold Holiday Open House

Posted

The Buffalo Bill Center of the West welcomes the community and surrounding region to its annual Holiday Open House on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 3 and 4, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. both days.

The event is free, but those attending are encouraged to share the holiday spirit by bringing a non-perishable food item or a still-packaged toy. The donations can be placed in the collection boxes at the main entrance. The center will distribute the food donations through Cody food pantries, and toys through Toys for Tots.

The center decorates for the holidays and serves complimentary hot cocoa and candy canes during the open house. All five museums are open to explore, and Santa Claus enjoys visiting them too. You’ll find him roving through the center from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. both days, so bring your list and catch up with him during the event.

The center’s Points West Market offers great storewide savings during the open house, and those who make purchases of $50 or more will receive a free poster.

This year, the center is pleased to welcome the Park County Library’s Mobile Outreach Van on Sunday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The van will be parked in the front parking lot for visitors to stop by and learn more about this new initiative to provide library services outside the library’s walls.

For more information, visit centerofthewest.org/event/holiday-open-house. From Dec. 1-Feb. 28, the center operates on its winter schedule, open Thursday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., closed Monday-Wednesday.
