All-class reunion to be held this weekend

Powell High School reunion weekend is upon us.  It begins with the Panther Invitational Golf Tournament, which starts at 10 a.m. on Friday.  The 108th annual all-class reunion will wrap up the weekend, but the fun begins with events for individual classes scheduled for Friday.

The class of 1949 will be holding its 73rd reunion dinner at the home Beryl and Winston Churchill.

The class of 1960 will be holding its 62nd reunion from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at city park. Classmates can bring their lunches and enjoy a picnic catching up on 62 years.

The class of 1962 will be celebrating its 60th reunion at 5 p.m. at the Eagles Lodge. There will be finger food and music.

The class of 1965 will be celebrating 55 years plus two at The Commons. 

The 50 year reunion of the class of 1972 will be celebrated at the American Legion, beginning at 6 p.m. Dinner will feature a taco bar for $20 per person.

The graduates of 1977 will be celebrating 45 years at the Elks Lodge at 6 p.m. Food and drinks will be available.

The class of 1982’s 40 year reunion will be at Scott Argento’s house, beginning at 6 p.m. The event will feature a bonfire, games, a bar and Wicked Eats food truck.

The class of 1992 will begin celebrating its 30th reunion at 6 p.m. at the Plaza Diane on Friday.

Beginning at 7:30 p.m., the class of 2002 will be holding its 20th reunion at the American Dream Drive-In.

Saturday’s events will begin at 7 a.m. with an Orange and Black Panther Fun Run sponsored by the Lady Panther Volleyball team, followed by a breakfast at the American Legion at 8 a.m. A poker walk sponsored by the Friends of the Powell Library will start Saturday at 10 a.m. and conclude at 12:30 p.m.

Northwest College’s Trapper Classic Car Show will be from 10 a.m- 2 p.m. at the NWC campus. 

At noon, alumni can enjoy “a bring-your-own-everything” get-together at Washington Park followed by an evening get-together at 4 p.m. at  the fairgrounds that will feature a cornhole tournament, entertainment and refreshments.
