On Dec. 23, Park County Sheriff Scott Steward accepted the donation of a LaRue OBR (Optimized Battle Rifle) sniper rifle from Julie Crow of Texas-based LaRue Tactical. The company, formally known as Austin Precision Products, hosted a designated marksman course at the Park County Law Enforcement range and classroom in September and offered the weapon as a thank you. ‘The gift comes at a time of need for the Park County Sheriff’s Office and we are very grateful for this gift,’ said Charla Baugher, a spokeswoman for the office. She said the rifle will be used by the Sheriff’s Response Group (SRG).
