Many people today may have found themselves wondering where is God in all that is going on. In times like these I find myself looking at God’s word, where I am reassured that he is not dead or on an extended vacation. No, he stated long ago in his word that the things that we are experiencing today would in fact happen.
In Matthew 24:36-44, he says as it was in the days of Noah so shall it be in the last days. In my nearly 76 years I have never witnessed such things as I see happening in the world today!
You may be asking yourself, what should I be doing? Again, God’s word has an answer for his children in the book of II Chronicles 7:14, which says, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
When I break down this verse these are the things I see: (1) If you are a believer in Jesus Christ we should be calling on him. (2) We must truly humble ourselves. It needs to be totally about him and not about me! (3) We are to PRAY and SEEK HIS FACE! And finally, we must be willing to change our ways!
Let’s stop kidding ourselves. Man, and all his attempts will never get it right! And although we are admonished to pray for our leaders, politics or politicians will never be able to set our country on the right track!
They say old teachers never die, they just loose their class. Well, as someone who fits this description, let me offer each of you my final lesson. Here are the real ABCs:
• Admit that you have sinned! Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and have fallen sort of the glory of God.”
• Believe that Jesus is truly who he says that he is. That he came and died for each of us and that he rose from the dead and is coming back to take us to live with him in heaven for eternity.
• Confess him as your own personal lord and savior.
Thanks for allowing me to share what I truly believe is the most important lesson any teacher could ever teach.
Love each of you!
