The rainy weather kept the Good Old Boys away from the course for two weeks but they made their return to the Powell Golf Club on June 27, getting into action once again with “X-Cept 18” as the game of choice.
In this game, four man teams use one net ball on holes 1-9, two net balls on holes 10-17 and three net balls on No. 18.
The team of Don Hardy, Rhett Wolff, Larry Hedderman and the blind draw of Gerry Johns finished first with a score of 93.
Clark Jeffs, Buddy Rae, Cas Seago and Dave Frost finished second with a 96.
Third place went to Johns, Terry Lane, Joe Comer and Lloyd Snyder with a 99.
Paul Devoss, Thom Seliga, Dennis McCollum and Bob Mason finished fourth with a 101.
Rounding out the scores with a 106 in fifth place was the squad of Ray Nelson, Tom Bibbey, Marc Saylor and Devoss as a blind draw.
Deuces on the day came from Jeffs on holes No. 8 and 17, Lane on No. 17 while McCollum and Mason each got one on No. 15.
Rae had the low net of the day with a 69 and Jeffs had the low gross with a 79.
