Stomp and Company Dance legacy at Park County Fair continues

Stomp and Company Dance has been around for so long the current owner Kylie Cannon doesn’t know how long it has been training dancers, but she does know they will be performing at the Park County Fair as they always have.

“I’ve been clogging for 17 years and it’s [Stomp and Company Dance] been going on way before me,” Cannon joked.

Stomp and Company Dance will perform at the fair Tuesday through Saturday with a team of 30 kids (29 girls and one boy) of varying ages.

Cannon, who has owned and coached for three years and has four instructors, says that the fair performances serve as an end to the summer season for her cloggers. The season begins in January and is half preparation and half recitals and performances. For Cannon, the fair perfomance is always special because it’s a good opportunity to see her kids improve.

Stomp and Company Dance will be performing all week during the fair at 7 p.m on Tuesday, 4 p.m. on Wednesday, 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and noon on Saturday.

Each song will be a different skill level and audiences can expect everything from country and pop to Gilligan’s Island.

Those interested in joining for next year’s performances can register now for beginner classes in August and September.
