A difficult matchup Sunday night saw the Powell Pioneers fall to Service, Alaska, in the winners' bracket semifinal 8-4.
Alaska scored three in the first inning and scored in each of the first four innings to build an 8-0 lead.
Powell was able to get four runs in the top of the 7th through a Cade Queen single and a series of walks with the bases loaded.
The loss drops the Pioneers to a loser out matchup with Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Monday at 4 p.m.
This matchup is courtesy of the Pioneers already facing Redmond Sunwest, Oregon, in the first round of the tournament and Alaska having already faced Coeur d'Alene as this round will not matchup teams that have previously played each other.
