Gas cost decrease

PUBLIC NOTICE

The Wyoming Public Service Commission (Commission) approved the Application of Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. (MDU or the Company) to pass on a wholesale commodity cost decrease of $2.605 per dekatherm (Dth) to its residential, firm general, and small and large interruptible service customers, and a decrease of $2.595 per Dth for optional seasonal customers, effective for usage on and after November 1, 2022. The proposed change is primarily due to a decrease in the wholesale commodity price of natural gas.
The Company’s proposal results in a decrease of $30.47 or 20.57%, before taxes, for a typical residential customer using 11.7 Dth during November 2022. Actual bills will vary with usage.
Commission Rule Chapter 3, Section 26, allows a utility to pass on, to its customers, known or projected commodity cost increases or decreases on a dollar-for-dollar basis, subject to public notice, opportunity for hearing and refund.
MDU’s Application is available Commission’s offices in Cheyenne, Wyoming or online at: https://dms.wyo.gov/external/publicusers.aspx (Enter Record No. 17177).
Anyone desiring to file a statement, intervention petition, protest, or request for hearing must file with the Commission in writing, on or before January 18, 2023. A proposed intervention or request for hearing shall set forth the grounds, the position and interest of the petitioner in this proceeding.
If you wish to participate in this matter and you require reasonable accommodation for a disability, contact the Commission at (307) 777-7427, or 2515 Warren Avenue, Suite 300, Cheyenne, Wyoming 82002.
