Absaroka Mountain Thunder will be clogging at the Park County Fair throughout the week for their 21st year.
Since Absaroka Mountain Thunder has existed they have only missed one year of the Park County Fair due to COVID-19.
Absaroka Mountain Thunder was originally founded in 2000 by director and co-owner Tara Shorb and her mother, co-owner, Cindy Bjornstad who started clogging together 35 years ago.
Now Shorb’s daughters also clog and will be participating in the fair performances.
Currently, Absaroka Mountain Thunder has 35 cloggers ages five to 17 who range in skill level.
“We have 35 cloggers that consist of about 15 beginner cloggers and the other 20 are our competition and performance group,” Bjornstad said.
Bjornstad says that the cloggers work well together and with Shorb who “puts in the work with the girls” to put out the best performances possible.
“Our program is a competitive and performance based program and these girls learn to work as a team,” Bjornstad said.
Audiences can expect to see a variety of different clogging styles and music genres during Absaroka Mountain Thunder’s three performances at the Park County Fair. Their first performance will be Tuesday at 5 p.m. followed by 5 p.m. performances Friday and Saturday.
