Dear editor:
In response to a recent letter to the editor wherein the author pointed out that folks can write-in candidates, I would like to clarify that I am neither running a write-in campaign, nor am I asking for individuals to write me in.
With that said, I do encourage folks to research the candidates and issues then make a plan and vote in November!
Two main issues this election will be 1) a constitutional amendment related to property taxes, and 2) the renewal of the 2% lodging tax in Park County.
The amendment would create a separate classification for residential real property and allow the Legislature to specifically address residential property taxes instead of enacting Band-Aid solutions.
The Cody Chamber will be holding an informational Cody Club meeting on Oct. 21 at noon in the Cody Club Room to discuss the importance of the lodging tax in our community. I hope all those who are interested attend.
Kind regards.
David Hill
