Following the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in the area, both the Powell and Cody city halls have closed to the public, but staffers remain available by phone and email.
Starting at 1 p.m. Wednesday, all City of Powell facilities were made off-limits to the public, while essential services — namely police and utility services — continued.
Those needing to do business at City Hall are asked to use the city’s website at www.cityofpowell.com, use the drop box behind City Hall for payment drop offs or call staffers at 307-754-5106.
“Please give us a call and we will help you in any way we can,” city officials said in a Facebook post Wednesday. “We thank you for your understanding and concern for the safety of yourself and others.”
Cody officials made the same decision, closing their City Hall at noon on Wednesday. Those with business at Cody City Hall can call 307-527-7511 to see what alternatives can be made.
