Powell area cabin was the state’s most wishlisted-Airbnb last year

Posted

Among the many Airbnb locations across Wyoming, it was the Heart Mountain Japanese Cabin outside of Powell that was the state’s most wishlisted accommodation in 2020.

Located within Common Ground Farms, a 400-acre certified organic farm, the cabin offers open space for long hikes in Wyoming’s wild nature. The cabin contains Japanese influences in its architectural design.

Amenities include a shower for two, a dry sauna and a large, elliptical bathtub with unobstructed views of the front deck, surrounding landscape and mountains of the Big Horn Basin.

Located just miles east of Heart Mountain, the Japanese cabin offers travelers the opportunity to “gaze across thousands of acres of beautiful grassland and sagebrush and witness the natural wonders that brought many Native Americans to Heart Mountain to harness its healing energy.”

In a January news release, Airbnb officials said that, after months indoors, Americans “are daydreaming about traveling regularly and reporting feeling optimistic as a result.”

According to a September survey commissioned by Airbnb, more than a third (36%) of Americans find themselves daydreaming about traveling daily and more than one out of every four adults working remotely (28%) reported that planning a trip for some time in the future makes them feel hopeful. Airbnb described the trend as “Wish List Wanderlust.”

Local tourism leaders have been hoping that pent-up wanderlust translates into visits this year.
