PHS band students recognized

Powell High School band members were honored at the end of the school year. The top students from each grade level were recognized, with Aiden Chandler being named the outstanding freshman and Elisa Polson selected as the outstanding sophomore. The outstanding junior was Jay Cox, and Kenadee Bott was named outstanding senior. Bott also was the band’s drum major.

Austin Chandler received both the John Philip Sousa Award and Louis Armstrong Jazz Award. Bennett Walker was honored with the Musicianship Award. Devin Ott was recognized as the conductor in training and also received the Merit Award.

The PHS Guitar Ensemble for the 2018-19 school year included: Gage Dunsey, Dylan Escalante, Nathan Johnston, Noah Lavin, Vanessa Mendez, Trent Dicks, Jacob Harrison, Bryce Hogen, Colton Johannsen, TJ Odom and Cat Wilson.
