Change is coming for the scheduling of the annual Powell High School Alumni Association weekend.
In recent years, the reunion has been a fixture on the weekend after the Fourth of July. This year’s reunion activities will take place on July 8-9.
The target for future reunions is the last weekend in June, said Gerry Wilkins of the alumni committee. The year of 2023 will be something of a bridge year to get to the new June reunion weekend.
“The last full weekend of June (in 2023) would be too far away from people coming out for the Fourth of July, so 2023 reunion dates are going to be June 30-July 1,” he said. “Mark your calendars accordingly, and spread the word.”
