Worland's Ramos signs up to be a TrapperThe Northwest College men's basketball team landed another stellar in-state recruit this week when Worland's Chantz Ramos signed a letter of intent to play for the Trappers next season. Ramos signed his letter of intent during a Monday visit to the NWC campus."I watched him play a number of times and he plays the game hard at all times,” said Northwest College men's basketball coach Andy Ward. “He's a quality individual and an excellent student. We just felt like we couldn't go wrong with him on our team.”Ramos was a two-time all-state selection and a three-time all-conference selection for the Warriors. He played varsity ball during all four of his high school seasons. As a senior, Ramos ranked among Wyoming's scoring leaders, averaging 18.2 points per contest. He also turned in impressive totals of 5.4 rebounds, 5.0 steals and 2.5 assists per game as a senior. Ramos shot an impressive 80 percent from the foul line, earning his way to the charity stripe more than 100 times as a senior.“I liked the home-town feel that Powell had, even though they've been a rival in high school,” said Ramos. “I'm looking forward to playing close to home.”Ramos marks the second signing this spring by the Northwest College men's basketball program. The Trappers tipped off the spring signing period last month by inking two-time all-state selection Keeton Tucker from Kemmerer to a letter of intent. “I'm really pleased with how our in-state recruiting is going this season,” said Ward. “We identified a number of quality prospects and we've signed two of those in Keeton and Chantz. We still have others on our radar screen.”The Trappers are coming off a 16-15 season. The team expects to sign four additional players in the weeks ahead.
