Morris William “Bill” Brazelton of Powell, Wyoming passed away on Sept. 24, 2023, at Billings Clinic in Montana with his wife by his side.

Bill was born on Sept. 10, 1938 in Basin, Wyoming to Clair and Ellen Brazelton. He attended the Winchester one-room schoolhouse with his sisters and brother through eighth grade before going on to graduate from Worland High School in 1956. He served his country in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1960. He and Mary were married in 1963, and the couple moved to Powell in 1971. Bill worked for Montana Dakota Utilities for 38 years.

Bill’s favorite place to be was on the back of his horse. He loved spending summers in Battle Park on the Bighorns. Bill never knew a stranger, and made many friends giving horse-packing classes all over the Midwest. Bill and Mary were founding members of the Shoshone Backcountry Horsemen in 1993. He also was an active member of The Gideons, and New Life Church of Powell. Most of all, Bill spent every day sharing a love for Jesus with anyone in his path. He was the most kind, generous, and selfless man who will be greatly missed by so many.

Bill is survived by his wife, Mary Brazelton; daughter, Veronica (Michael) Andrews of Laurel, Montana; son, Billy Brazelton; son, David (Lillian) Brazelton of Powell; grandsons, Dustin Neimen, Zackeri Zaring, Brian (CeCe) Brazelton of Powell, Wyoming; granddaughters, Misty Bird, Amanda Solis, Bailie (Drew) Johnson of Loganville, Georgia, and Beth Brazelton of Powell, Wyoming; and 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Audrey (Mack) DelCamp of Warden, Montana, and Laura Slye of Worland, Wyoming; brother, David (Jeannie) of Lakeland, Florida. Morris was preceded in death by his parents, Clair and Ellen Brazelton; his sister, Peggy Sims; and his brother-in-law, Richard Slye. Family and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Morris on Friday, Sept. 29, 2023, at New Life Church in Powell, beginning at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bill Brazelton Memorial Scholarship Fund at Sunlight Credit Union.
