Mary Lou Regan

Word has been received here of the Nov. 1 death of a former Powell resident, Mary Lou Regan, 76, of Thompson, N.D. She died at Valley Eldercare Center, Grand Forks, N.D.

She was born Nov. 4, 1928, in Goodland, Kans., to Henry C. and Nona (Steart) Neu. During her early childhood, the family moved to Powell where she graduated from high school.

On June 18, 1946, she and Robert F. Regan of Lander were married in Columbus, Mont. He died in June of 2005.

They moved to Williston, N.d., in 1951. The building business later moved them to Parshall, Minot, McClusky and Gackle, N.D.

She did regular visitation at the Sheridan County Memoprial Home in McClusky. she volunteered her services and opened up her home after the 1997 Grand Forks flood.

Mary Lou was actively involved in the upbringing of her children and grandchildren. She was a fearless church youth leader. She was known for her friendliness and hospitality.

She was a woman of unwavering faith in the Lord, who served through the church in all places she lived. Mary Lou faced life honestly and cheerfully.

Survivors include her son, Ken of Thompson, N.D., Linda Regan of Jamestown, N.D., and their children, Robert, Charles and Kaitlin; her daughter, Kathleen (Gordon) Heller of Gackle, N.D., and their sons, Keaton and Kayton; and her brother, Harold (Doris) Neu of Dayton.
