Mary Jane Klink, 86, died Sunday, Nov. 30 at the Powell Nursing Home.

She was a Kansas native, having grown up in Russell, Kan., with her brother, John. She attended county school and Russell Public Schools and worked as a telephone operator. She genuinely loved her young life.

At the age of 21, she met Victor Klink at a dance and fell in love. After a short engagement of about two moths, they were married on July 2, 1939.

After two years of marriage, they started a family and were blessed with two daughters. As a young mother, she was active in Eastern Star, White Shirne, Boysenoutz and church activities.

She and her husband loved Colorado and moved to Boulder in 1956, becoming natives immediately. She completed Licensed Practice Nurse training in her mid-1950s.

When retirement came, they moved to Canon City, Colo. She was active in Pastor Matron's Club, Hospice, church and Alanon. She traveled to Israel and the Holy Land with her church group. She was devoted to the Lord.

In her later years, she lived in Wyoming. She enjoyed her grandchildren and was delighted to be a great-grandmother. She walked every day, and she enjoyed crocheting, crafts, pets and flowers. She loved shoes, dresses, the early mornings and a good book.

She grew and struggled as women of her generation did. She learned to be independent and knew she was successful as a person and a woman.

Survivors include her two daughters, Kay Montgomery of Wyoming and Marty Rann of Colorado; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

As she wished, cremation has taken place, with memorial services to be announced at a later date.

Miratsky-Easton Funeral Home handled arrangements.
