Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Sept. 3 at 10 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel for James William Sapp, 57, who died Sunday, Aug. 28 at the Powell Valley Care Center.
He was born Dec. 16, 1947, at San Mateo, Calif., son of James Robert Sapp and Dorothy Lee (Stinson) Sapp. He was raised in Bowling Green, Ohio, and attended Ohio State University on a ROTC scholarship.
He lived in Portland, Ore., until moving to Powell in 1995 where he was a resident at Rocky Mountain Manor until moving to the care center. He was an active resident at the care center, spending time in restorative therapy activities and resident council activities. He enjoyed playing pool and table games.
Survivors include an aunt, Betty Sapp of Powell; and an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. William Hust of Talent, Ore.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The Rev. Billy Greaham will officiate at services and burial in Crown Hill Cemetery.
