James Judson 'Jim' Seiver Jr.

James Judson “Jim” Seiver Jr., 81, of Powell, passed away on May 29, 2022, surrounded by his family. 

Jim was born Feb. 6, 1941, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, to James and Florence (Brownell) Seiver. On Nov. 8, 1980, he was united in marriage to Jeannette Rieff. 

He worked in various positions in the oil and gas industry throughout his career, retiring in 2003. 

Jim was a past member of the Sons of the American Revolution and Polecat Ramblers RV Club. He enjoyed camping, snowbirding with his wife, fishing, pitching horseshoes and games of all sorts. Always full of love, laughter and a wonderful sense of humor, he often said, “If you can’t laugh, life’s not worth living.” 

Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 41 years, children: Janet (Archie) Crichton, Russell (Teri) Seiver, Diana (Ron) Kaehn, and Judson (Caroline) Seiver; stepson Clint (Debby) Rieff; son-in-law Gilbert Barela, 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; his siblings, Sharon Horstman and Verna Jo (Albert) Newton; and sister-in-law Sharon Lundeen. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Coleen Short, brother-in-law Eldon Short, sister-in-law Iona Cox, stepdaughter Vicki Barela, and stepson Cody Rieff. 

A celebration of life will be held on June 11, 2022, at the American Legion in Powell, at 2 p.m. Lunch will be provided.
