Dear editor:
It has been brought to my attention, our 80 acres, south side of Lane 10, is up for rezoning from Rural Residential to Industrial. We have farmed this land, raised our kids on it for over 50 years, in hopes they could divide it up among themselves in the future, or we might like to add to our new house. This rezoning could cause problems later on.
I'm wondering, why, in our small community, do we need so many acres put under Industrial zoning? Where's the industry going to come from? If we needed to sell this land to get through our retirement, industry will not be knocking our door down to buy it from us. I don't want my taxes going up. Leasing the land out only pays for the water and taxes, maybe a little cash left over. We don't plan on selling it, it's our home.
I've visited with people from other states. They're here to get away from so much government control. Let's keep Wyoming free as we can from government. Let the planning and zoning committee and our commissioners know how you feel about keeping Wyoming free of government outreach.
