(Sept. 12, 2010)
Homer C. Stoudt left his earthly home of Lubbock, Texas at the age of 78 on Sunday, September 12, 2010. His parents were Harold and Alice Stoudt, long time residents of Powell. He left his sweetheart of over 61 years, Inez Stoudt and his children Janet Short of Lubbock, and Victor Stoudt and wife Kathy of Kyle, Texas. Others that will miss him are five grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Homer was a 1950 graduate of Powell High School and moved from Powell in 1959.
Homer and Inez spent their lives together at work and at play. He loved his family and enjoyed fishing, reading, and tools. He and Inez had owned their own business of H & I Auto in Lubbock and worked together there. He retired from Scoggin Dickey as a mechanic of over 50 years and many others learned their skills in automotive repair from him.
For such a quiet man he left a big empty place but he said he had an amazing journey
