Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating a 50-year-old Cody man, who’s been missing since Saturday night.
Michael A. Shotts is believed to have been hiking in the area of the Hayden Arch Bridge around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, the Park County Sheriff’s Office said.
“His truck and two dogs, wandering outside of the truck, were discovered the next morning [Sunday] at the same location,” Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Charla Baugher-Torczon said in a Monday news release.
The bridge is located several miles west of Cody off U.S. Highway 14/16/20 in the Shoshone River Canyon, along a road that’s popular for walking.
Shotts was last seen wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans and a yellow ball cap. He was in the company of his two dogs and driving a gray 2009 GMC Sierra with a U.S. Army veteran license plate, number 329.
The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information about the last known whereabouts of Shotts to call dispatch at 307-754-8700.
