The art of accomplished artist Georgia Rowswell will be coming to Plaza Diane from July 16-Aug. 13 and is open to public viewing on Saturdays from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
The gallery will also be open for viewing during Plaza@5 on July 21. The final day will also be in conjunction with Plaza Palooza.
Rowswell graduated from the University of Buffalo as magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts. She then went on to be an artist in residence at 13 different institutions including the Ucross Foundation for the Arts in Ucross, Wyoming, and Botanic Gardens in Cheyenne.
“Georgia describes herself as having a curious mindset open to inspiration from many sources. A series could develop from a book, a fossil, rust patterns on a car or nature discovered on a walk,” a press release from Plaza Diane said.
According to the release Rowswell reclaims materials for her artwork. She sources materials largely from thrift stores including clothes and textiles, Roswell believes this “extends and adds to their life story.”
Blue Door Arts, Rowswell’s studio and gallery, is at 1608 Capitol Ave. in Cheyenne.
