Gayle L. Kelly, 66, died at his home in Powell on Dec. 15, 2022.
He was born Feb. 21, 1956, in Macomb, Illinois, to James and Audrey (Wheeler) Kelly.
A retired certified mechanic, he spent many years as a mechanic for Ford dealerships. He also was a beet piler operator for several years.
He enjoyed camping and fishing and time spent in the outdoors. He loved hanging out with his friends, playing pool and darts. Gayle made many friends through his pool league and cribbage tournaments and could always be counted on to help out friends in times of need.
He is survived by a son, Michael Kelly of Powell, and a daughter, Amber (Jace) Patterson of Deaver; five brothers, Jack (Jill) Kelly, James Kelly, Roger (Nancy) Kelly, Donald (Dina) Kelly and Thomas Kelly; three sisters, Martha (Jeff) Fouts, Margaret Kelly and Mary (Clyde) Jockisch; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Audrey Kelly; three brothers, William Kelly, Robert Kelly and Daniel Kelly; nephew Scott Kelly; and nieces Rosemary E. Jockisch and Shawn P. Kelly.
