Jameson, Geiser conclude careers as first-teamersFour members of the Powell Pioneers American Legion baseball team that successfully defended its Class A state title and finished as runner-up at the Northwest Regional tournament earned all-state honors for their efforts this season.

Scotty Jameson and Grant Geiser were each named first-team performers in Wyoming. Colter Bostick and Tyler England received second-team all-state recognition.

For Jameson, the award marked the fourth summer that he has received all-state recognition. Jameson finished the season with a .490 batting average with nine home runs and 75 runs driven home. He struck out a team-low 15 times over the course of more than 200 at-bats for the summer.

Jameson was also a force on the pitching mound for the Pioneers. He finished the year with a record of 10-2 with a pair of saves and more than 120 strikouts.

Geiser was honored for the third straight summer by Wyoming's baseball coaches. After flirting with a .600 batting average through early July this summer, Geiser, who has signed to play for Williston State College this academic year, finished with a .525 mark at the plate. He led the Pioneers with 88 RBIs while also connecting for nine home runs.

Pioneer pitcher/first baseman Colter Bostick was honored for the first time as an all-state selection. Bostick led Powell in home runs this season, sending 10 balls over the fence, while carrying a .404 batting average and driving home 59 runs.

Like Jameson, Bostick finished the season with a 10-2 record pitching and averaged nearly a strikeout per inning over the course of the season. Bostick will travel to Texas to begin playing for Midland College later this month.

Among the all-state selections, only second-teamer Tyler England is eligible to return to the Pioneers next season.

Batting in the leadoff slot for much of the year, England finished with a .402 batting average. He finished with a pair of home runs and 43 RBIs for the season and his speed on the basepaths made him a potent table-setter for hitters further down the order.

The Pioneers finshed with a 46-16-2 record this season. The 46 victories were the second-most by a Powell baseball team, trailing only the 48-17 squad of the previous summer. Powell became the first Wyoming team ever to reach the championship game of the Northwest Regional Class A tournament this summer, falling 12-9 to Ashland, Ore.
