He is survived by a sister, Louise Monk Birch of Idaho Falls, Idaho; brother Benjamin Ronald Monk of Boulder, Colo.; three daughters, F. Maxine Monk Wood and Pamela Monk Railsback, both of Victoria, Texas, and Edith E. Monk Hallberg of Berkeley Calif.; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren;10 great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
