Come to the Powell Library to make Christmas Cards for our veterans. From Monday, Dec. 2 through Friday, Dec. 13 stop by the Powell Library to make a Christmas card for one of our most treasured resources, our veterans. Help to bring some Christmas cheer; all cards will be distributed by the American Legion and Downrange Warriors.
Craft time for all ages will be from 1-3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13. Come to the library to make Christmas ornaments. This fun craft is for all ages, adults, kids and families.
Powell Library is offering three different book discussions for all your literary tastes; all book discussions meet at the Homesteader Hall meeting room. For this month we will have two groups meeting. The Tuesday Afternoon Book Discussion meets on Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. where we will be discussing “Flight” by Sherman Alexie. Join us for Fiction to Film Book Discussion on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 6 p.m. to discuss “Skipping Christmas” by John Grisham.
Join us for Adult Craft Night on Thursday, Dec. 19 at 6 p.m. for Craft Catch-Up. This is a great chance to do some of the adult crafts you might have missed. Adult Craft Night will be at the Powell Elks Lodge at 581 Clark St.
Powell Library is offering Tech Tuesday with Chris; sign up for a one-on-one session with a Park County Library IT administrator who can help you with your device problems. Tech Tuesday will be on Dec. 17; sign ups required.
Teens can come to the library on Friday, Dec. 20 at 1 p.m. for Nintendo Switch Game Day.
Bring the kids to the Powell Library for our wonderful children’s programming. We will have Baby/Toddler Time on Monday, Dec. 2, Dec. 9 and Dec. 16 at 10:30 a.m. Join us every Wednesday for Storytime at 10:30 a.m. Sign up to Read to a Dog on Tuesday, Dec. 3 and Thursday, Dec. 19 from 3-4:15 p.m. We will be offering a Homeschool Hour on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 2 p.m.; join us for reading and crafts. Join us for Lego Club Friday, Dec. 27 at 1 p.m. Parents remember we have Early Literacy Kits as well as tonies for checkout. Make sure and check out the new book at the StoryWalk at Homesteader Park. This month’s story is “The Christmassy Cactus” by Beth Ferry.
Starting Dec. 9, the Powell Library will have new hours, it will open at 8 a.m. Monday through Thursday. All Park County Libraries will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday Dec. 24 and 25 for the Christmas holiday. The libraries will also be closing at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31 and we will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day.
