Hark! The herald angels will sing across Powell on the night before Christmas. Six local churches will host Christmas Eve services.

New Life Church will have a Christmas Eve candlelight services at 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. One Christmas Day service will take place at 11 a.m.

Garland Community Church of God will have a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 6 p.m. and 10:30 a.m. service Christmas Day. 

Hope Lutheran Church will have a Christmas Eve candlelight service and Holy Communion at 5 p.m. There will be no Christmas Day service. On New Year’s Day there will be lessons and carols at 9:30 a.m. followed by a tailgate party in the Fellowship Hall. 

Powell United Methodist Church will combine with Union Presbyterian for Christmas Eve candlelight service and communion at 7 p.m. at Union Presbyterian Church. The churches will also combine for an 11 a.m. service on Christmas Day at the United Methodist Church. Wear your pajamas, and children are encouraged to bring their favorite gift from that morning. On New Year’s Day there will be a combined service between Union Presbyterian and both Powell and Lovell United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. at the Powell United Methodist Church. 

Lovell United Methodist will have a candlelight service Christmas Eve at 5 p.m. and Pajama Worship Christmas morning at 9 a.m. 

Glad Tidings Church will have a Christmas Eve service 6-7 p.m. There will be Christmas songs, readings, special music and a short message. Christmas Day service will be 10-11 a.m. with the same message and service as the previous night.

Grace Point will have a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 5 p.m. and Christmas Day worship at 10:30 a.m.

Faith Community Church will have Christmas Eve services at 4-4:45 p.m. and 5:15-6 p.m. There will be one service on New Year’s Day at 10 a.m.
