Cody police are asking for help from the public to find and identify an individual or individuals who robbed a credit union and a bank this (Tuesday) morning.
One individual, described as being between 5'8" and 5'10" tall and between 25 to 30 years of age, entered Sunlight Federal Credit Union a little before 9 a.m., and handed the teller a note demanding money, said Cody Police Chief Perry Rockvam in a news release.
Rockvam said the individual fled the 1702 17th Street location on foot after handing the teller the note.
An almost identical crime was reported two-and-a-half hours later at the First Bank of Wyoming on Sheridan Avenue where an apparently different individual handed the teller a note demanding money. Cash was obtained in that incident, Rockvam said, and then the robber fled on foot.
No weapons were displayed during either incident, the chief said. He did not disclose whether any money was taken in the attempted robbery at the Sunlight Federal Credit Union.
Rockvam asked anyone with information about either incident or the suspects to call Cody police at 527-8700. He said the department will try to get photos of the suspects and release more information as it becomes available.
