The mother of a Powell man died Tuesday, Dec. 31 in Garden City, Kan.
Billie Beryl Ginest, 84, lived in Garden City since 1936. She was a lay minister at First Christian Church and was known for her calling ministries in the church.
She was hostess for the High Plains Christian Church ministers gathering on a monthly basis.
Melvin Ginest of Powell was among her six sons and one daughter. Her husband, Edward, died in 1977.
