With the cause unclear, Cody police say they’re investigating the deaths of twin brothers who were found dead Saturday at their residence.
In a Monday news release, Cody police said they were called to the Sheridan Avenue residence by one of the men’s co-workers, who said the man had not shown up for work and was not answering repeated phone calls. Police logs show the request for the welfare check came in Saturday shortly before 5 p.m.
When officers arrived at the residence, they found the two 61-year-old men deceased inside from unknown causes.
In the news release, Officer John Harris said portable air quality monitors were used to rule out carbon monoxide or other combustible gases in the home.
“Detectives were at the location throughout the night and the preliminary investigation did not indicate any suspicious circumstances regarding the deaths,” Harris added.
One of the brothers had recently tested positive for COVID-19, he said, but the Cody Police Department “has not definitively concluded the virus had a role in the deaths of the deceased.”
Harris said Monday afternoon that the case remained under investigation and that “no further information will be available at this time.”
He asked for anyone with any information about the investigation into the deaths to contact Det. Sgt. Juston Wead at 307-527-8700.
