As the COVID-19 pandemic disrupts life in the Big Horn Basin, the Cody Country Art League is challenging artists to create a pictorial history of local life during this “unprecedented time.”
“Let’s paint our history for future generations to see and understand what was happening in Wyoming during the pandemic,” the league said. “Paint, sketch or journal your days away until the virus is gone!”
The “Big Horn Basin Covid Challenge” is open to anyone in Park, Big Horn, Washakie or Hot Springs counties. To participate, send pictures of your art to art@codycountryartleague.com, including your name, town, age and the title of your piece.
The photos will be posted to Facebook — for everyone’s viewing pleasure — and the original art work will be exhibited in the Cody Country Art League Gallery once the social distancing requirements are lifted. Ultimately, the collection will be offered to the Park County Archives.
