Tanner James Dodds passed away after a long struggle with personal mental health issues. Born June 21, 1996, in Billings, Montana, he ended his life’s journey on April 21, 2022, in Burney, California, just shy of what would have been his 26th birthday.

Tanner spent the majority of his life in Powell, but also lived in the Basin/Greybull area. Throughout his life he experienced rough patches, but he was always a compassionate man with a huge heart for both people and animals. He had a great sense of humor and loved telling jokes and making others laugh, including making light of himself even in the face of life’s greatest challenges. He lived a free-spirted life on his terms and was a beloved son, brother, uncle, father and friend.

Tanner is survived by his two children, Jensen and Janelle; his father Jim Dodds (Marianne); his mother Laura McCamey (Jay); and his siblings from both family sides: five sisters: Jessica, Taylor, Jill, Haley and Sara, and two brothers, Jon and Mason; as well as grandparents, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, aunts and many, many friends.

Tanner, we love you always and forever, and we miss you every single day. One day, we will all meet again.

The extended family will celebrate Tanner’s life on Saturday, June 25, at 1 p.m., at the Powell Fire Hall in Powell. All are welcome and we do encourage attendees to bring poignant photographs and heartfelt stories/memories to share as we remember Tanner together.
