Exploring options for brucellosis compensation fund

Posted

The East Yellowstone Collaborative (EYC) invites landowners and managers to the Buffalo Bill Center of the West’s Kuiper Hall on Monday, Sept, 25 for a discussion that explores the possibility of developing a brucellosis compensation fund in our area. EYC has invited the Property Environmental Research Fund (PERC) from Montana to present its existing brucellosis compensation fund developed with landowners in the Paradise Valley in Montana.

The event will include personal experiences from local producers about brucellosis, a presentation from PERC’s Brian Yablonski and Travis Brammer, and a Q&A session. The gathering is from 3-5 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

RSVP to attend: Laura Bell at laura@legacyworksgroup.com or 307-272-4613.

Working with private landowners and partners, EYC was formed to catalyze landscape-scale conservation along the Absaroka Front while enhancing the economic viability of ranches and their important role in wildlife conservation.

EYC is committed to finding conservation solutions that work for landowners and the community including habitat leases, habitat restoration, conservation easements, improved resource mapping layers for county planning, social gatherings around topics of interest/concern, and mutual aid and support.

Participating organizations include Park County Open Lands, Western Landowners Alliance, The Nature Conservancy in Wyoming, Greater Yellowstone Coalition and LegacyWorks Group.
